Chobits S01

In the not-too-distant future, personal computers have developed into a human-like form called Persocoms, which are shaped like attractive men and women and are referred to as such. Hideki Motosuwa is a poor student who failed his entrance exams to get into college. As a result, he had to go to the city to find a job and prepare for his next college entrance exams. He is very interested in getting a Persocom, but cannot afford one. One day, while walking down an alley, he finds a Persocom in a large pile of trash. However, his new find is different from the others he has heard about; she has no operating system and can only say the word "Chii" so he decides to name her that. As Hideki learns more about his Persocom, he realizes that she is not like any other Persocom he has ever seen, and is likely one of the earliest models. He also hears rumors about the "Chobits" series of Persocoms that are said to possess the ability to think and act on their own, rather than just running their programming.
